A Navasota man walking along the feeder of Highway 6 waiting on a ride from his girlfriend ends up in jail on two Grimes County warrants, plus new drug charges.
The Bryan Police arrest report says they received a call for a man walking along the frontage road of Highway 6 close to Briarcrest Drive around 10:40 pm. The reporting party said the man had on a black hoodie, and was hard to see clearly, as he almost hit him.
Police eventually caught up with 19 year old Andrew Rene Guitron of Navasota, who said he was waiting at McDonalds for his girlfriend when his phone died. He began walking toward Navasota, where his girlfriend was driving from, and said he intended to wait for her at the Bryan Walmart.
After running his name, officers discovered two warrants from Grimes County, for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Evading Arrest. While being arrested, he advised officers he had meth in his pocket.
Guitron was arrested on the two warrants, plus new charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He remains in jail on bonds totaling $25,000.
