At Monday’s City Council meeting, a special, short ceremony was held to honor one local who just crossed the half century mark of service to the community!
“A special proclamation for Lessie Arrington. She is a native of Navasota. Her dream was to go to college to be a nurse, and was hired in 1972 by Navasota Nursing and Rehabilitation, working as a CNA for about a year, before attending school in 1973 at Blinn College,” said Mayor Bert Miller. “She loves making patients feel at home, which puts families at ease. She is also motivated by getting to visit with the residents each morning, and make sure they have everything they need. She has worked for Navasota Nursing and Rehab now for 50 years”
That was Mayor Bert Miller reading a proclamation on Monday night.
February 14th was marked as “Lessie Arrington Day,” and Miller encouraged all the community to stop by Naavsota Nursing and Rehab to congratulate Arrington on her 50 year anniversary!
