Three suspects led Navasota PD on a multi-county chase last night that ended in a manhunt.
According to authorities, a high speed pursuit broke out in Navasota when NPD received a call from a victim of a previous assault involving three individuals in a white Tahoe.
Navasota PD located the Tahoe on Washington Avenue and initiated a stop. The driver was identified as having several warrants. The vehicle fled with two other occupants inside.
The chase went westbound on Highway 105 and continued into Washington County, then drove through a gate, drove through a pasture and crashed into a creek. From there, the suspects fled on foot into a wooded area.
NPD was helped by multiple agencies, including K9 units and a DPS helicopter, as the man hunt went through the evening.
At approximately 9:45 pm, another suspect was caught by k9 units. The suspect was in possession of a 9 mm pistol and over an ounce of marijuana. Then, around 11 pm, officers observed a male walking out of the woods onto 105 near the Brazos River bridge. He was identified as another occupant of the car and was arrested.
The suspects are the driver, 30 year old Keldrin Walter, 25 year old Glenn Chatman and 27 year old Courtlynn Harris.
Walter faces numerous charges, including evading in a motor vehicle and evading on foot, to go along with his two outstanding warrants. Walker is also facing pending charges from prior investigations. Chatman was charged with evading onfoot, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of maijuana. Harris was ultimately charged with evading on foot and also had an outstanding warrant against him.
As of Tuesday morning, all three subjects are booked in the Grimes County Jail.
