Navasota Police Department Assist with High-Speed Chase Through Grimes and Brazos Counties

June 4, 2024 by Willy1550

According to a press release from the City of Navasota:

“On Monday, June 3rd, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Navasota Police Officers were requested by the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office to attempt to locate a Chevrolet Cruz traveling west on Highway 105 East, which was recently stolen in Montgomery County. Navasota Police Officers were able to locate the vehicle entering the city limits and conducted a traffic stop at the Highway 6 and Highway 105 intersection.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cruz failed to stop and entered Highway 6, accelerating. Officers with Navasota Police and Grimes County Sheriff’s Office initiated a pursuit with speeds around 100 mph. The pursuit continued into Brazos County, where DPS, College Station Police Department, and Brazos County Sheriff’s Office assisted. The Cruz was spiked several times, causing the speeds to lower, and the Cruz exited at University Drive.

The vehicle continued fleeing westbound on University Drive and the pursuit ended on Wellborn Road. The driver, Kevin Jackson, age 51, out of Spring, TX, was taken into custody and charged with Evading in a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1. Mr. Jackson also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Montgomery County for resisting arrest.”
