According to a press release from the City of Navasota,
“On Friday, July 26th at approximately 5:30 a.m., Navasota Police Officers responded to the 600 block of FM 1227 for a report of shots fired and an injured juvenile. Officers arrived on scene and located a juvenile female, residing in the 600 block of FM 1227, who had been struck with a stray bullet. The juvenile was transported to a Bryan hospital with minor injuries.
Officers located evidence of the shooting in the roadway and southeast position of the complex at 700 Doris Street. Several vehicles and an apartment wall were damaged from gunshots.
Currently, FM 1227 is closed for evidence retrieval and first responders are blocking the roads at FM 1227 and Washington Avenue, as well as FM 1227 and FM 379, to prevent 18-wheeler traffic.
