A Harris County man is in jail, after Navasota Police arrested him at a local motel Wednesday.
That was first reported by the Navasota Examiner, who noted a large police presence outside the Vanguard Motel on Wednesday afternoon. Navasota Police says that around 3 pm, their office alongside the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, received a tip that the man, who had a warrant out for felony sexual assault and felony burglary, was there.
Officers attempted numerous times to contact the man inside, who refused to allow access to his room. Authorities used force to gain entry, where they found the man in the bathroom with self-inflicted knife wounds to his neck, and chest, in an apparent suicide attempt.
He was arrested, and identified as 25 year old Jamie Turner of Houston.
Turner was taken to CHI St. Joseph, where at last check, he was in stable condition.
Patrons at the hotel were evacuated before the forced entry, to ensure safety of all. No further information has been released.
