Navasota Police ramping up patrols after four shooting reports in last two days

November 23, 2021 by Willy1550

Four separate reports of shots fired in Navasota this week is leading to a ramp up of enforcement by NPD.

Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt sent out a press released on Tuesday that said the four reports have come within the last two days, Sunday through Tuesday. No persons have been hurt, only property has been damaged.

The first of the reports was on Sunday night, November 21st, around 10 pm in the 700 block of Doris Street. Officers then heard shots about 20 minutes later that same night on Baker Street. Another call was received by dispatch abut 20 minutes after the Baker Street incident, for shots reportedly fired in the 1200 block of Chinski Street.

Around 2 am Tuesday morning, the most recent report for shots fired came in the 600 block of Baker Street.

Once again, no one was injured in these shootings. NPD believe these cases to be related to the fatal shooting on Foster Street two weeks ago, which killed a Washington County man. They say they are taking precaution to keep the public safe by ramping up patrols across the city.

Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity, or any information they may have regarding the case, to the police department at 936-825-6410.

No further information has been released.
