A pair of suspects is on the run after robbing the PNC Bank in Navasota on Tuesday afternoon.
That happened around 12 pm, when police say two armed men went into the branch, took an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled the area. Police Chief Shawn Myatt said the two men fled in a Black Honda Accord or Civic. No one was injured during the robbery.
Myatt says a getaway car was waiting for them in a small creek area behind the bank, and a third person may have been involved. Brule Elementary, which is nearby, was on lockdown for an hour, with no one allowed in or out of the school. Normal operations resumed at 12:45 pm.
No further information has been released, as the investigation continues.
