The calendar has rolled to May, and that means for us, hotter days and more trips to the pool. But, is the Navasota City Pool fixed up, and ready to go for this summer?
City Manager Brad Stafford says yes it is fixed, but they are still working to get it swim-ready.
“We are in the process of cleaning it. You know, with the damage, the pool turns pretty green when it is not circulating. City staff is working on it…hopefully they get it open pretty quick, I know the swim team is wanting to get in there pretty soon. The sooner the better for us, we want to get it open,” said Stafford during the most recent Grilling Stafford episode.
He says that once it is ready for a dip, they still face one other hurdle before opening it to the public.
“We still need lifeguards. So, if you know someone, or you are interested in being a lifeguard for the City of Navasota, you need to be 15 years or older, up to 100 years old…we will also send you through training. So, you do not need your certification to come apply,” Stafford said.
