Navasota Resident Charged In Baby Beating

December 28, 2016 by Willy1550

An undocumented-immigrant Navasota resident was arrested last week after the Navasota Police Department received a call from a College Station hospital who’s staff didn’t believe a baby’s injuries were accidental.

Chief Justin Leeth says the child’s father 30-year-old Julio Gamez admitted to inflicting the child’s injuries, and was arrested, and taken to the Grimes County Jail; charged with “injury to a child,” a first degree felony.

Leeth tells Navasota News you can do your part in keeping people safe by reporting anything you see that’s suspicious to them.

Gamez could spend the next five-years to life behind bars and be subject to a $10,000.00 fine if he’s found guilty. He also faces possible deportation following his trial; immediately if he’s found not guilty, or after his jail term if he’s convicted.
