Navasota sees rise in new home building

August 21, 2018 by Willy1550

Anyone in Navasota can see the town is growing at a steady pace. The city is expanding and people are moving here fairly quick. In fact, the town is seeing development of homes that it has not seen in awhile.

Community Development Director Guadalupe Diosdado said at the August 13th meeting of Navasota City Council that the number of permits for single family homes being built has already surpassed last years totals.

“Last year, the entire year, we had 45 permits issued for new home building construction. This year, we’re halfway through the year, we’ve exceeded last years total. We are at 47 this year,” Diosdado said.

Diosdado says too that with a few other subdivisions beginning new phases of development, the numbers will just keep growing.

“We just filed for phase two of Pecan Lakes. And if DR does what they did in phase one, I am sure we’ll get quite a few more built.”

He says he is excited to see what the numbers look like by the end of the year.
