If being recognized by your peers is the measure of success, Navasota must be quite successful, as City Manager Brad Stafford was recently called upon to make a presentation to the Texas Municipal League on Down to Earth Strategies for a Stellar Downtown.
That particular topic, Stafford tells Navasota News, turned out to be quite popular among other members of the Small Cities Advisory Council at TML’s annual conference.
Downtown development became quite a hot topic, Stafford says, adding that a lot of Navasota’s challenges to insure that our downtown remains viable are common among the more than 1150 town and cities that make up the TML.
Stafford concludes that Navasota’s unique stores and good mix of retail and professional services fuel high occupancy rates that go hand-in-hand with the city’s beautification and marketing programs to help keep Navasota both beautiful and profitable.
