Much-needed work has begun on some of Navasota’s most distressed streets and roadways, and the City’s Street Superintendent says that despite last weekend’s rain, the repair process is going smoothly.
Jose Coronilla tells Navasota News work crews have already started on Ashville, Houston and Dallas streets while managing to keep the streets open.
And he explains the work isn’t going to stop there. Because work bids came in lower than expected, City Council recently approved more repairs.Originally the City planned on spending more than $200,000.00, but now expect to pay around $190,000.00 instead.
And the work is going so well, in fact, Coronilla reports the crews want to start on three more needy streets before Friday; Louie, Ella and Buckingham.
And as long as the weather cooperates, he promises they will start paving-over these roads sometime next week. So keep your fingers crossed, and keep it on 1550am for construction updates.
