After a month without one, Navasota finally has hired its new, official city manager.
“I move to approve the amended employment contract with Jason Weeks, and allow the mayor to execute the final version of the contract,” said councilman Josh Fultz speaking during Monday’s special city council meeting.
Weeks is the current assistant city manager in La Porte, and is a Texas A&M graduate. He has experience in cities such as McKinney, La Porte, Fairview, and Greenville.
Mayor Bert Miller laid out the timeline for Weeks’ starting date.
“Intent will be to finalize housing situation and whatnot, and begin duties on January 3rd,” said Miller.
Weeks will take over for Brad Stafford, who resigned on October 29th following 15 years of service.
