Now that the Navasota Theatre Alliance has packed-up all its productions for the old year, the group’s new president says things are looking good as the non-profit looks to 2017.
Sheryll Brown tells Navasota News the Alliance’s plays have either surpassed the national average of play attendance or at least was close to average. The group has also undergone several changes, including a more robust Board of Directors, new theatre seats, and, thanks to some grants, has accomplished several much-needed repairs to the old Sunny Furman.
The Alliance is also now realizing income from Navasota’s Hotel Occupancy Tax, Brown smiles, which are being used to promote the theatre outside of Grimes County.
As for the new year, she promises you can look forward to more Neal Simon plays, along with a renewed group focus on financial stability, grants and donations, to insure an ongoing, thriving arts community here in the County of Grimes.
