Navasota To Host Preliminary Round For National Talent Contest

The Sound of Small Town America is headed to Navasota! Navasota is one of four cities hosting a preliminary competition for a national talent contest held by the Inspirational Country Music Association (ICMA). The winner of the national competition earns a package that includes a professional songwriting session, and the recording of a six-song EP plus two radio releases from the project.

The Sound, searches out towns all over the United States that are unique, have a deep-rooted history and work hard to preserve the beauty of their City to host the competition.

 

“As we drove into Navasota, we were drawn in by their unique and historic downtown, we knew we had to get out and walk around,” said Diane Parten, President of the ICMA. “We were so excited to connect with the City of Navasota and invite them to be a part of The Sound of Small Town America.”

 

The Sound of Small Town America, (The Sound) is a Christian based talent reality TV show. It is sponsored by the Inspirational Country Music Association, (ICMA). Taping for the competition in Navasota, Texas, will be held on Saturday Oct. 21, 2023. It will be a great day out for family fun with the City and ICMA planning to host a street festival of music with excitement and competition.

 

“We are very excited to welcome The Sound of Small Town America to Navasota in October!” says Bobbie Lehrmann, Marketing & Communications Director, City of Navasota. “This opportunity is unique both for the contestants and the community.”

 

The Sound of Small Town America is looking for new artists who represent hometown values and are drawn to preserving the beauty and history of the country.

 

“This is a great opportunity for any singer who loves country music with a positive message and wants to compete for a chance to perform on the Grand Ole Opry House stage at the Inspirational Country Music Awards Show March 27,2024,” says Parten.

 

About the Competition: Think you have what it takes?

 

ROUND ONE: Send in your submission by going to www.inspirationalcountrymusic.com  and click “Learn More”.  Fill out the submission by following the directions. The submission fee is $50.00 fee. A panel of Nashville best will evaluate each submission.

 

ROUND TWO: The panel will pick the best and brightest talent to compete live in Navasota, TX, on Saturday October 21, 2023

 

All contestants picked to compete in Navasota will receive an invitation by email from the ICMA! Every submission will receive a personal evaluation from the panel and a one-year membership to the Inspirational Country Music Association. From the Navasota live competition, 5 finalists will advance to compete in Nashville and perform on the Grand Ole Opry House stage, where a national winner will be announced in 2024.

 

The City of Navasota is also excited to partner with ICMA to offer the Top 5 finalists in Texas the chance to perform live on stage at their annual Texas Birthday Bash event in March 2024 to showcase their recorded songs and practice their on-stage presence in front of a live crowd before the Nashville finale!
