Navasota uses first federal dollars from winter storm on emergency staff salaries, protective equipment

March 5, 2021 by Willy1550

The City of Navasota got some federal funding, following the damages and such from Winter Storm Uri a couple weeks ago. But, what did it it get used on?

City manager Brad Stafford explained during the most recent Grilling Stafford episode.

“I do not remember the final amount. But, we used it to pay for our salaries for some of our emergency personnel. Some supplies to help keep the office space safe, and business operations safe, for both visitors and staff. So, there will probably other opportunities for some more money, but that s what we spent it on this time,” Stafford said.

If you have any potential losses from the winter storm, water included, you can go to disasterassistance.gov, and report what you may have lost during the storm.

for questions, contact the city at 936-825-6475.
