Navasota’s Blues Alley Honored

November 18, 2015 by Willy1550

There’s another feather in Navasota’s cap today. The town’s Blues Alley Mural was recently recognized as the best public improvement in the state for cities of less than 50,000 people. Mayor Bert Miller tells Navasota News the Alley beat out several much larger towns to win the Texas Downtown Association’s honor and as he explains it, the alley is a the fruit of many labors.

Miller says the Association is made of the cities that dot the Texas landscape and tries to bring both businesses and people back to the old city centers.

And with this goal in mind, he continues, the small placard that traveled to its new home in the Blues Capital of Texas, is just a reminder of yet another achievement.

And the Mayor says, the city still wants to continue its revitalization of the downtown areas and streetscapes.

We at Navasota News congratulate the city and the artists for their latest recognition and hope for continued success.
