Navasota’s Debris Plan Gets Trashed

April 13, 2015 by Willy1550

The City’s plan for dealing with debris got trashed itself at the last Council Meeting. Mayor Protem Peter Canney was one of several council members reporting how they’d been stopped on the street by folks who were none too pleased with council’s efforts so far

One of the most often heard complaints, according to Councilman Geoff Horn, has to do with using bio-degradable string to bundle brush. A provision he specifically (and rather whimsically) asked Mayor Bert Miller to remove.

Horn later detailed for the Mayor what specifics he wants to see addressed at council’s next meeting.

And while City Manager Brad Stafford promised council he would retool the program once again, he reminded them that the whole purpose of the program revamp is to free-up city staff for other high priority projects.
