It’s been three months now, since, in an effort to build-up visitorship, Mayor Bert Miller transformed his landmark downtown Navasota business, Blues Alley, into the Classic Rock Coffee Company. so is “Field of Dreams” correct? If you build it, will they come?
Not only have then been coming, Miller tells Navasota News they have been telling their friends and we’ve gotten a lot of good reviews on both the food and drinks that we have to offer.
Miller admits it was quite a costly venture, but, he adds, so far as he’s concerned, the Blues Alley location was where it had to be, because we lost the Filling Station a few years ago and there was no place downtown to eat. My goal, he says, was to keep them downtown just a little longer.
And by the look of the traffic around it at most of the time, his plan seems to be working. So far, so good, he says, adding he’ll know more come this fall.
There’s also a free Meeting Room, Miller adds. It’ll accommodate about 20 and all they ask is that you buy a little something to eat and or drink, from a menu that’s as varied as it is unique.
Tht Classic Rock Coffee Company’s open seven days a week: 6:30 in the morning til 8 at night Weekdays; 8 to 8 Saturday, and 8 to 6 Sunday.
