Looking for some relief from tax season? the Navasota Grimes County Chamber of Commerce recommends its first-ever Groovy Grapes Wine Walk through downtown Navasota this Saturday, April 15th.
Chamber Executive Director Johnny McNally explained to City Council this new venture came about through a survey of Chamber members, and a wine walk was the new event most members wanted. Thus, he said, the Groovy Grapes Wine Walk came to be.
McNally said more than a dozen downtown businesses will take part in the Go Texan-supported event planned as a four-hour celebration, from 2 to 6.
He explained that visitors will start at the Visitors Center where their ID will be checked and they will be given a wristband. They will then follow a map taking them from business-to-business where they will be given a small sip of wine.
A “small sip,” McNally clarified, is defined as an ounce.
Go Texan’s Michelle Bobo explained that each of the six dispensing stations have received a special TABC Festival Permit to allow them to take part. She explained it will be on the honor system. They keep track of the one-ounce pours they give out during the day, and the Chamber will reimburse them 50 cents for each one.
There’ll also be designated locations serving non-alcoholic drinks from 2 til 6 and local musicians all along the route to add to the fun atmosphere.
