New chairman to be chosen for Texas A&M Board of Regents

March 8, 2019 by Willy1550

The Texas A and M system board of regents will have a new chairman.

That’s after Governor Abbott chose not to reappoint Charles Schwartz and two other members from Houston, Morris Foster and mayoral candidate Tony Buzbee.

The governor has nominated three Aggies to the regents. Jay Graham of Houston is in the energy industry, Mike Hernandez of Fort Worth is a new car dealer, and Michael Plank of Houston owns an industrial lighting company among other business interests. Plank is also on the Texas higher education coordinating board.

All three appointments are subject to confirmation by the state senate.
