New cluster of positive COVID-19 cases pushes Grimes County total to 54

12 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed today have sent Grimes County beyond the 50 mark, to 54 total cases in the county.

All 12 new patients, cases 43 through 54, are inmates at the Wallace Pack Unit in Navasota. All of them are male offenders, who are currently not hospitalized.

Currently in Grimes County, there are 41 active cases, with 12 reported recoveries.

As of today, Grimes County has still only had one COVID-19 related death, an inmate at the Pack Unit.

No further information was released. County officials urge citizen’s to continue following social distancing guidelines and avoid large gatherings.
