A few months ago, county elections administrator Rebecca Duff told the Commissioner’s Court she would be retiring this summer. Well, after weeks of searching, the county now has a new elections administrator.
Duff introduced everyone to Elizabeth Ybarra, who will be taking over those duties.
“August the first, she will be our new elections administrator. She is here now to be trained and learn the ropes,” said Duff.
Ybarra takes over for Duff, whose time as administrator will end in August. She also introduced Christina Griffin, another new employee in her office that takes over as deputy voter registrar.
Duff originally wanted a June retirement, but the May elections and search for replacement drew her to August.
