New Entergy Advanced Power Station in East Texas could power up to 230,000 homes

November 30, 2022 by Andre Perrard

Entergy Texas has announced plans to build a new, advance power station in East Texas.

They say the Public Utility Commission approved their proposal for the Orange County Advanced Power Station, which will be a 1,215 mega-watt combined cycle power facility in Bridge City.

The plant, according to the release, will ensure the region continues to have modern, reliable infrastructure, with a system capable of powering more than 230,000 homes.

The plant is expected to gather $100 million in fuel savings the first year, and over $1 billion in net benefits to its customers through its lifespan.

The construction is expected to begin in 2023, and complete in 2026.
