The head of the Navasota Independent School District is leaving Rattler Nation for Nolan Ryan’s hometown.
Superintendent Rory Gesch made that announcement last Thursday after receiving word of the Alvin ISD School Board’s approval of him to be Assistant Superintendent. Adding the district always tells its staff to keep their eyes open for opportunities, and this one would be a good move for his family.
Gesch tells Navasota News he hasn’t even turned in a letter of resignation yet, but he has personally told each of the School Board Members about his plans to leave.
Looking back on his decade of service to the district, he continues, there are some things he will miss about the NISD, primarily the kids.
Gesch says it’s too early to say who will replace him, or even when he will leave, but he expects the Navasota School Board will get that ball rolling.
