NISD Teachers Get More Funding Next Year

October 5, 2015 by Willy1550

Good news for Navasota teachers. With the finalization of next year’s budget for the Navasota Independent School District, they’ll see a raise, albeit it a small one around 3%.

And the NISD’s Ronnie Gonzales tells Navasota News with the district’s instructional budget increasing nearly a million dollars it will enable the hiring more teachers as well to accommodate a slight increase in students.

Gonzales says, the NISD has already hired ten new teachers to handle the new student-teacher ratio.

But to afford that budget increase, he continues, it did need to make some cuts in other areas, but it also received some outside funding from grants to supplement the losses.

Gonzales says teachers are the most integral part of the district, claiming that with these changes and the proper motivation, your kids can get more attention in the classroom next year.

And that should make for good news for NISD students and parents alike next year, in addition to the teachers.
