There will be no renaming of Peeples Street in Navasota.
At last night’s city council meeting, the item of renaming the street from Peeples to Baldwins Boulevard was up for discussion. But, as you will hear Mayor Bert Miller and Brad Stafford discuss, no action was taken on renaming it.
“The request was retracted, and due to the new information provided by the city on who it is currently named after….anything else to say on it?” said Mayor Bert Miller.
“No,” said City Manager Brad Stafford. “I just wanted to make sure we followed the procedure, just like any other request.”
Peeples Street will remain named the same name.
