No new deaths added in weekly Grimes County COVID-19 update, as recoveries rise

More new cases were added in the weekly Grimes County COVID-19 update, as active cases continue to drop.

According to the release sent on Tuesday, the county is now at 1,092 total cases since March 2020, up 49 from last week. Of those, 571 cases have been in Navasota.

On the active case side, there are 108 currently active cases in the county, which is down three from last week. In all, 50 of those active cases are in Navasota.

For recoveries in the county, there have been 1,060 total since last March, an increase of 48 from last week.

No new deaths were added in this week’s update, and the running total sits at 27 deaths in the county since March.

In total, 20,592 tests have been performed in Grimes County.

On the Texas Department of Criminal Justice side, both units in the county remain on the COVID-19 dashboard for active cases. At the Pack Unit, there are 9 active cases, down two from last week, with 1 an offender and 8 employees. For the Luther Unit, they have 14 active cases, down 2 from last week, with 1 of them an offender and 13 of them employees.
