As of Wednesday morning, there are no plans for Grimes County to execute a shelter-in-place order due to COVID-19.
“There are no plans, at this time, for a shelter in place. I do know that some of our surrounding counties have issues that order. They have their reasons for doing that. Currently, as your county judge, I have no reason to put a shelter-in-place in order,” said Fauth. “Now, could that change two hours from now? Yes it could. I do not see that happening, but we will keep you informed.”
As of Wednesday, there have been two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Grimes County, with none other suspected cases at this time, according to Fauth.
He also reminded citizen’s to not listen to be drawn into rumors or information that does not come from county officials.
“To diminish rumors, hearsay, or anything you read on other Facebook pages…please stay in touch with the Grimes County Emergency Management page. that is going to be our official page for information,” Fauth said.
Fauth also reminded everyone that the Grimes County Expo Center and Fairgrounds is closed until further notice.
