A North Zulch man remains in the Brazos County jail after taking authorities on a motorcycle pursuit last week.
According to the report, that happened in west Bryan on May 5th, after a deputy constable recorded the the motorcyclist doing 50 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour school zone near Mary Branch Elementary. When the constable attempted a traffic stop, the man took off, reaching speeds above 90, until it became stuck in a ditch.
The man ran into a wooded area, where K9 deputies assisted apprehending him, hiding in brush wearing a black back pack. K9’s identified narcotics on the handlebars of the bike, and in a black bag on its side. In the back pack he was wearing, officers found a pipe with drug residue. He was arrested, and identified as 21 year old Skyler William Salyers of North Zulch.
He remains in the Brazos County jail on bonds totaling $28,000, facing charges of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, Tamering with Evidence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Salyers is also awaiting three trials in Brazos County on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia.
