The excitement continues to build in Northern Grimes as the first medical clinic there in anyone’s memory is just weeks away from opening.
And although the doors of the BIS Community Clinic are set to open around Labor Day, Family Nurse Practitioner Elizabeth Ellis says the bureaucracy may not be.
She warns that getting credentialed with these insurance companies takes a lot of time, so they may not be fully credentialed with everyone at the start. But she promises they will certainly have traditional Medicare and Medicaid, some of the commercials and a lot of the HMOs for Medicare and Medicaid will follow quickly
And as the paperwork is being normalized, the staff of the BIS Community Clinic also continues to grow. Besides Dr. Ellis, Dr. Mary Helen Morrow of Madisonville has assumed the position of medical director and Dr. Russell Bacak of Abundant Life in College Station has signed on as alternate collaborating physician.
And the social media for the clinic is also coming together. They now have a BIS Community Clinic business page on Facebook, and the website is currently under construction; biscommunityclinic.com. Or for those old enough to remember, there’s also the phone. That number is 936-241-3431.
Also, there’ll be a chamber of commerce ribbon cutting and open house at some point. And just as soon as it’s set, we’ll let you know about it, here on Navasota News.
