NPD Offers Active Shooter Advice to Churches

March 24, 2018 by Willy1550

Around two dozen members of local faith-based groups gathered at the Navasota Center recently for what Navasota Police Chief Justin Leeth called an Active Shooter Presentation.

It came about, Chief Leeth explains, as part of his department’s response to the recent mass shooting in Southerland Springs.

Leeth says his intent was to spark thoughts on the formulation of a specific plan for each church . . . just in case.

Some very thoughtful questions were raised during the latter portion of the hour and a half event, Leeth tells Navasota News,  including how to utilize the three-pronged strategy he presented of avoiding first, denying next and defending, if need be.

If you think a presentation like this would be beneficial to your organization, contact Chief Leeth by calling him at 936-825-6124.
