School starts tomorrow, August 18th, for the kiddos in the north-westernmost reaches of the county. And, numbers from Iola ISD say that more students are going with the face-to-face instruction option, rather than remote learning, for this year, according to superintendent Scott Martindale.
“519 responses, which is amazing, just a phenomenal percentage that responded. We had 84 percent for face-to-face, and 16 percent for remote. So, that breaks down to 437 for face-to-face- and 82 for remote,” said Martindale.
Those comments came during the most recent School Board meeting. Martindale also noted that, on the budgetary side, the responses were surprising.
“We got 519 students who told us how they are going to be learning this year. And again, when we set our ADA (Average Daily Attendance) in our template, we set it at 480. So, we are sitting well as a district,” Martindale said.
Any other updates from the district an be found on their website. The first day of school for Iola ISD is tomorrow, Tuesday, August 18th.
