The sound of one Navasota resident being shot Friday morning, November 10th, brought the Navasota P.D. and members of the Grimes County Sheriff’s and D.P.S. to a home in the 500 block of Tyler street.
Once the residence was secure, Navasota Police Chief Justin Leeth reports locating 45-year-old Amado Barrios, who had been shot as the result of an argument with an extended family member, 37-year-old Christopher Quesada, who is a Houston resident, and, Leeth adds, who’s also had several run-ins with the law.
The chief says his investigation indicates it all began as an argument and there could have been some alcohol involved.
Barrios was treated and released for severe, but not life-threatening injuries, Chief Leeth tells Navasota News, while Quesada was arrested and booked into the Grimes County Jail.
At last report, Quesada was still residing in the Grimes County Jail on $115,000 bond, charged with Aggravated Assault, a Second-Degree Felony and two Class A misdemeanor charges of Assault of a Family Member. If convicted, he faces up to two decades behind bars and a $10,000 fine.
