A motorcyclist was killed last night in Grimes County.
Authorities say the man was attempting to make a U-turn around 5:30 pm yesterday (Wednesday) on Highway 30 just west of FM 244 near Carlos.
Troopers said the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on 30 when he attempted to make the U-turn and turned into the path of an oncoming semi-truck.
The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 65 year old Nathan Monk of Houston and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
Authorities shut the highway down for three hours to clear the scene.
