A Christmas Eve house explosion in Hempstead sent one person to the hospital.
According to authorities in Waller County, they got a call for a home explosion in the 1300 block of 5th street in Hempstead around 10:20 pm on the 24th.
That home was destroyed, and two other structures nearby were damaged in the blast. The homeowner was the one person injured in the explosions, and he was sent to Memorial Herman in Houston with burn injuries.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
