Details have emerged about the fiery crash on Interstate 45 that killed one on Sunday morning.
Texas DPS says that around 6:30 am, a car driven by a Houston man stopped for an unknown reason on the inside northbound lane of the interstate, near mile marker 109, between Huntsville and New Waverly.
That is when a semi-truck travelling northbound collided with the car. Impact from the crash sparked a fire that consumed the car and damaged the semi-truck.
The driver of the stopped vehicle died at the scene and was identified at 25 year old Deshaun Williams of Houston. An autopsy was ordered, as troopers say Williams may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The driver of the semi-truck survived and was not identified.
No further details have been released.
