It’s just a matter of days now til all Grimes County kids grudgingly head back to school for the fall semester. And no matter how good their teachers are, none of them will be able to do their best unless they have all the supplies they need. That’s where you come in by taking part in Golden Creek Healthcare and Rehab’s Operation Backpack.
Golden Creek’s Marlena Dobyanski says all you have to do is drop your backpacks full of school supplies off at Golden Creek’s Navasota facility, 2100 Dove Crossing Lane, in Dove Crossing, just off the east Highway 6 frontage road, north of Spur 515 before 5 o’clock this Friday.
Golden Creek is open 24 hours a day, but they are asking that donations be brought in during regular hours of 8 to 5, so you can have a picture taken with your donations.
The drive has been going on since the first of the month, and while Dobyanski says they’ve already begun gathering some backpacks, she tells Navasota News she anticipates even more this week, following the back-to-school Tax Free Weekend.
