Ordinance to allow alcohol downtown to be presented at January 25th Navasota City Council meeting

January 8, 2021 by Willy1550

Numerous events have been held in years past, allowing shoppers in Downtown Navasota to “sip and shop,” while enjoying alcohol downtown. On just usual days, however, that is not allowed.

But, there might be a change to that rule coming soon.

“We also have had several business owners in downtown that have expressed interest in the city adopting an ordinance to allow alcohol downtown. So, we are presenting that to City Council on January 25th,” said Stafford, during the most recent Grilling Stafford episode.

Now, alcohol is permitted to be sold downtown already. This would just make it where shoppers could flow between stores while possessing and consuming alcohol.

That will be presented at the City Council meeting on January 25th, and for any questions, contact the city at 936-825-6475.
