Animal Cruelty Investigators from the Houston SPCA announced the removal of over 130 cats at a Grimes County home.
That happened on March 2nd at a home near Plantersville on County Road 341. That is where the agency says they removed 136 feline beings in total, rescuing them from what was quoted as deplorable conditions.
The report says that an eviction notice has been in the works for the owner, who had other horses, goats, and animals at the property. Eventually, the owner signed a waiver to relinquish ownership of the cats.
Two of them were pregnant, and all stayed in the abandoned home littered with debris, feces and urine. All in all, according to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office investigators, despite the bad conditions, the cats themselves were in decent shape.
It is not clear if any criminal charges will be filed.
The cats were taken into the care of the HSPCA, and will receive treatment.
