Two men from Bryan were arrested on charges of stealing a trailer in Grimes County.
A defective tail lamp led to the vehicle and trailer being pulled over, which ultimately lead to their arrests.
The owner of the pickup truck was identified as 46 year old James Christopher Hunn of Bryan, who went to jail for the 24th time in 28 years on charges of theft and possessing methamphetamine. Hunn also was awaiting trial on another theft charge at the time of his arrest.
The driver of the truck was identified as 32 year old James Welvaert of Bryan, and he was charged with theft. It is his 15th time in jail in 14 years.
The report did not mention from which town the trailer was stolen, just that it was reported stolen in Grimes County.
According to the arrest report, a Brazos County sheriff’s deputy determined the trailer plate was supposed to be on a homemade trailer owned by Hunn.
