Navasota ISD has joined a couple other local districts in giving their educators a raise amidst a massive teacher shortage.
The workforce has seen a near 3% drop in teachers after the pandemic began, nationwide.
Navasota ISD joins College Station and Bryan ISD’s in upping salaries for their educators.
Included for NISD is a 2% raise for all returning NISD employees, plus a $2,000 stipend. There is a $500 stipend for new employees, plus 5 local leave days, free lunch, and 5 COVID days.
This follows a raise two years ago with funds that came about due to the pandemic.
