Plantersville man facing Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon charge after shooting woman in face

August 3, 2022 by Andre Perrard

Second degree felony charges have been levelled against a Plantersville man for shooting a woman in the face.

The Sheriff’s Office says on Saturday around 8 pm, officers responded to the 12000 block of Hollyhill Drive for calls of shots fire. There, a witness identified 72 year old Roger Leon Payour as the shooter.

The victim refused treatment initially, but was taken to CHI St Joseph in stable condition.

According to Payour, he said when talking with investigators, he tried intervening between the woman and another male in an argument. The man allegedly refused Payour requests to leave the property. Payour then went into his residence and retrieved a .25 caliber pistol, firing one shot into the residence, which struck the woman.

Payour is facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and is in jail on a $250,000 bond.
