Plantersville man spends New Year’s in jail as he faces 3rd DWI Charge

January 3, 2023 by Willy1550

A Plantersville man spent the start of 2023 in the Brazos County jail after racking up his 3rd DWI.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office report says they received two separate calls from drivers Northbound on Highway 6 late New Year’s Eve, complaining of a man driving erratically across lanes.

Eventually, officers stopped 38 year old Daniel Richard Dunaway of Plantersville, and found an open cold beer, along with a pack of beer int he passenger seat.

Dunaway became somewhat uncooperative during sobreity testing, but was arrested without incident.

He was convicted of DWI in Fort Bend County in 2005, and in Montgomery County in 2011.

Dunaway, who is facing a DWI 3rd or More Charge, was released New Year’s Day after posting an $8,000 bond.
