It’s said that one of the drawbacks to progress is growth in crime. And just prior to the residents of the latest incorporated city in the County of Grimes electing their first slate of officials, one Plantersville store across from the Post Office on FM 1774 would have to agree.
Grimes County Sheriff’s Investigator Kendale Pittman says clerks of the Orduna Food Market reported two individuals had entered the store with a handgun and taken an undetermined amount of cash from the register. And, he said, the store’s surveilance cameras gave responding deputies a good look at the perpetrators.
Store clerks told the deputies the crooks fled the store on foot, Southbound on 1774. And while investigators comb through the evidence, Pittman tells Navasota News the department would appreciate your help.
If you go on the Grimes County Crimestoppers Facebook page or the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, he said, there’ll be two photographs there. If any of these people look familiar, Pittman goes on, you are asked to contact Grimes County Crimestoppers at 936-873-2000, or you can use the P-3 Tips app, which has a link on the page, and you can report information there anonymously as well.
And not only is the P-3 Tips app available for download to both i-phones and androids, Pittman says if your lead helps solve the case, you could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
