A traffic stop for rolling through a stop sign culminates in the arrest of a Plantersville teen.
The College Station Police arrest report says an officer stopped a Dodge Challenger around midnight Friday, near Southwest Parkway and Langford street, for the disregarding of the stop sign.
The officer noted three passengers in the car, and immediately smelled raw marijuana. All denied possessing any marijuana, and stated they had smoked in the car earlier. When searching the vehicle, the officer found a grey sack containing weed.
The sack sat within inches of the passenger in the backseat, identified as 18 year old Tomas Gonzalez of Plantersville, and the driver. When Gonzalez was exiting the vehicle, the officer saw an electronic cigarette vape pen, which is illegal to possess under age 21.
Gonzalez was arrested on charges of Possession of marijuana under 2 Ounces, and Minor in Possession of Tobacco. The driver, identified as Marc-Anthony Lopez of College Station, was also arrested.
Gonzalez was released Saturday after posting a $3,300 bond.
