Positive feedback received on downtown Navasota’s new “Sip and Shop” alcohol ordinance

September 24, 2021 by Willy1550

A few months ago, the City of Navasota instilled a new ordinance to allow folks to drink alcohol while walking around and shopping in downtown.

And according to City manager Brad Stafford, feedback on it has been relatively positive.

“I know the businesses that requested it are very appreciative of it. And I know they have seen the benefits of it. We have had plenty of sip and shop events…most of them have told me they have seen an uptick in business. And it is obvious looking at our sales tax rebates,” Stafford said.

The sip and shop ordinance only applies to the downtown Navasota area.

For questions, or if you would like more information, contact the city.
