Post-Flood Pests

June 22, 2015 by Willy1550

The recent floods that plagued Grimes County have left behind lots of breeding ground for mosquitoes. And with the chance of more rain on the way, the local ag extension wants to pass on some safety tips to help keep you safe from the little blood suckers.

The Extension’s Tanner Williams tells Navasota News that while mosquitoes only account for a small percentage of yearly infections, you can still minimize their nuisance and still enjoy the summer with these simple tips.

If you still plan on enjoying the outdoors, Williams advises wearing jeans and long sleeve shirts. If not, he smiles, than make sure one of the things you do have on is a bug spray that contains DEET.
