Power outage leads to early release in Iola ISD

More than 1,800 Entergy customers were without power in Madison and part of Grimes County today, and it forced a few schools to close.

Iola ISD was part of those affected in the outage, which extends from Normangee on down to the town of Iola. Iola ISD said they were experiencing the outage, a shortage of water and no phone service as well.

Iola ISD released students at 11 am and buses began running at 11:30 am.

According to the Entergy outage website, 1,865 customers are experiencing the outage.

The cause listed on the website was downed wires.
